THE A77 has reopened in both directions after earlier being closed near Glenapp due to a fallen tree.

The carriageway was shut in both directions at around midday on Monday due to the incident.

Road users were advised to follow signed diversions and expect longer journey times. The closure was lifted just after 4pm.

A spokesperson for Traffic Scotland said: "All lanes now running in both directions following the removal of the fallen tree. Emergency works have now been lifted."
