HUNDREDS of Santas are set to don their hats and beards on a 5k run through Ayr next month.
The 2024 Santa Dash is back for another year of fundraising for worthwhile causes, all while getting in the Christmas spirit.
The event will take place on Sunday, December 15, starting at Ayr Promenade and running to Millbrae - home of Ayr Rugby Club.
The dash is a joint effort by the rugby club, Ayr Cricket Club and Ayr United, with participants taking part for fun or for charity.
Brian Williamson, Ayr Rugby Club chairman, said: “The Santa Dash is a fun event. We want to bring the whole community together for a fun event that can be used as a platform to raise money for good causes, this could be local youth clubs, sports teams, community groups or charities.
"The event is suitable for all ages and stages, you can walk, jog or run. Everybody is welcome!”
Entry costs £5 for adults and £3 for children, and all runners will receive a free Santa hat and a finishers medal.
The entry fee will be split between Ayrshire Cancer Support, Ayrshire Hospice and Harbour Ayrshire.
