A MAN accused of stealing a car and shotguns during an alleged break-in will stand trial next year.
Patrick Boyle's pleas of not guilty to a total of six charges were maintained on his behalf by defence solicitor Brian Holliman at a hearing in Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Tuesday, November 19.
The 25-year-old was unable to attend in person due to issues with travel arrangements from his current home in Leeds.
After his continued denial of all allegations, a trial date has been set for 2025.
Boyle is accused of a number of offences, all of which relate to an incident in Stewarton on December 7 last year.
He has denied that, while acting with others, he broke into an address in the town and stole a quantity of watches, jewellery and clothes as well as four barrelled shotguns and a set of car keys.
It is also alleged that Boyle took a motor vehicle from the address on the same date.
A further four charges relate to accusations that Boyle was in possession of shotguns without being the holder of certification for the guns.
At his hearing this week, prosecutor Craig Wainwright told the court that when a trial takes place it is expected that it will last around three days.
Sheriff James Varney scheduled a date for the new year, remanding Boyle in custody in the meantime.
