AN AYR care home has been given a glowing report from the Care Inspectorate after a recent visit.
Claremont Care Home, on High Thornyflat Wynd, is registered to provide a care service to a maximum of 80 older people.
The home is operated by HC-One Oval Limited and the service registered with the Care Inspectorate in 2017.
The accommodation is provided in four units and spread over two floors connected by a passenger lift. All bedrooms are single occupancy with en-suite wet floor showers.
Lounge, dining and assisted bathing facilities are available within each unit and some units have a small kitchen which can be used by people experiencing care and their families to prepare drinks and snacks.
The inspectors dropped in unannounced from November 4-6, and were full of praise for the staff and the home.
They said: "The choices and preferences of people living in the home were supported by staff who were familiar with individuals' needs. People we spoke with said that staff were helpful, kind, and cheerful.
"Staff understood the value of involving people in meaningful activity to enhance their wellbeing and support good mental health.
"People told us they enjoyed taking part in the activities available. People were supported to maintain contact with family, friends, and their local community.
"People commented positively about the management team, they said that they were approachable and listened.
"People we talked with during the inspection spoke highly of the staff teams. They described the staff as kind and friendly.
"There were good standards of cleanliness throughout the home. The housekeeping team had good knowledge of their role and responsibilities to ensure that acceptable standards of cleanliness in the home were maintained. People commented positively about the cleanliness of the home."
Catherine Potts, home manager, said: “The positive report from the Care Inspectorate is a testament to the hard work and kind care that each and every member of the team at Claremont puts in, day in day out.
“I would like to thank everybody across our home for their commitment, and we are delighted that their dedication to supporting those in our care to lead their best lives has been recognised by our regulator.
“This is a great reflection of what we do as we strive to be the kindest care home provider, and along the way to be the first choice to those we care for, their families, colleagues and commissioners, serving at the heart of each of our communities.”
