MSP Sharon Dowey has learned about the positive work of the Ayrshire Hospice after visiting the charity's shop in Ayr.
The South Scotland Conservative politician visited the Crown Street premises to learn more about the work of hospice shops.
She saw first-hand the invaluable role the team of dedicated volunteers play in providing the highest standards of service.
With an extensive collection of items, the thriving shop is always looking to grow, with donations warmly accepted and appreciated.
The shop also acts as a 'Home Depot', with a range of pre-loved furniture, homewares and household items as well as adult and kids clothing and toys, games and book collection.
Access is conveniently located to the rear of the shop, with ample parking available for those wishing to make a donation or to visit.
The MSP met with a fantastic team of volunteers, and was given a tour of the shop by shop manager Derek Lennox, area manger Gerry Rooney and director of operations Liz Denovan.
Ms Dowey said: “It was a real pleasure to visit the Ayrshire Hospice shop in Ayr and meet with the team of committed staff and volunteers.
"I very much enjoyed finding out about the work that takes place at the shop and hearing more about the vital contribution volunteers make.”
Director of operations Liz Denovan said: “It was a pleasure to host Sharon Dowey MSP at our Ayr shop.
