THERE was an unusual sight of Santa in a lifeboat on Sunday at the RNLI Troon Christmas Fayre.

The fundraising branch of Troon RNLI hosted the annual event and the crowds turned out to get involved.

Alongside Santa's grotto, there were RNLI gifts, Christmas cards, diaries and calendars on sale alongside a variety of craft stalls as well as the tea room and the very popular home baking.

A spokesperson said: "Thanks to everyone who came along to support our RNLI Christmas Fayre.

"Santa told us he had a great time talking to everyone and has taken a note of what everyone asked for!

"It was also a busy time for our fundraisers and retail volunteers within the town hall as people came along to see the crafters and buy some RNLI gifts.

"From our fundraisers, retail volunteers and lifeboat crew, thank you once again to everyone who came along to support the RNLI in Troon."
