A KILMARNOCK leisure complex is set to celebrate its 30th birthday with its biggest event ever.

The Garage Leisure Complex, on Grange Street, is marking the milestone with 'The Garage Birthday Bash: 30 Years of GBX vs. 30 Years of The Garage'.

The event, which will take place on November 30, will include a 'legendary' line-up of DJs.

Special guests for the night include the venue's two resident DJs - DJ Darren 'S', and DJ Chappy as well as former West FM DJ Michael Smith, and headline act George Bowie.

Jamie Mackenzie, The Garage's owner, said: “We're one of the longstanding businesses in Kilmarnock.

"It's not that common that businesses last 30 years in the town so it's good to promote it and get a good night off the back of it.”

The Garage was founded in 1994, and provides various activities including bowling, go-karting, and crazy golf.

They also aim to throw events every month or two, to give the people of Kilmarnock something different to do during the evenings.

So far the public's reaction to the anniversary event has been very positive.

Jamie added: “We have done big events previously, but this’ll be the first time we’ve ever had four DJs at once, it’s our biggest event ever.

“I think its going to be a sell-out and it should be  a great night. I hope that everybody we've known for the last 30 years comes back to visit us on the night and we all have a really great time.”

The event starts at 9pm and tickets are currently on sale for £8.
