NEW road restrictions are being introduced close to the A77 motorway in Fenwick to tackle 'obstructive parking'.

East Ayrshire Council has introduced a No Waiting At Any Time restriction for Stewarton Road between the roundabout junction of Ayr Road and Stewarton Road, and the roundabout junction of Stewarton Road, Main Road and Skernieland Road.

This includes bus stops used by Stagecoach services which stop underneath the A77 flyover on both sides of the road. 

The order begins on November 18 and the restriction will remain in place until May 17, 2026 at 3pm.

Local residents have complained for several years about drivers parking their cars along the stretch of road before catching the X77 service between Kilmarnock and Glasgow.

Commuters travel from nearby Stewarton, Kilmaurs and Fenwick to catch the service in either direction.
