A MAN has admitted repeatedly punching an ex colleague at an Ayr takeaway after lashing out due to 'bad blood' between the pair.

Jamie Larcombe pleaded guilty to an assault charge having stormed into his former employer, Tempura 2Go, earlier this year and attacked the victim.

The 33-year-old admitted assaulting the man then in the course of his employment at the Beresford Terrace premises by repeatedly punching him to the head on April 4.

Larcombe, of Prestwick Road, and currently River Garden, Auchincruive, was asked to behave himself for the next 10 months before sentencing after seeking rehab.

A prosecutor told a hearing at Ayr Sheriff Court: "The witness was employed at the restaurant and at 7pm on the date the accused, an ex-employee, entered the locus.

"He made his way to the office to speak to the witness and entered.

"He stuck his hand out to shake it, instead of shaking it the accused punched him four times.

"Police were contacted. He was cautioned, charged and made no reply and was released on an undertaking."

Defence solicitor Katherine Grant said: "He is here with the support of his peer worker. At the time he was struggling with alcohol and there was bad blood between parties and he checked himself into rehabilitation.

"He sought the services himself and made great progress."

Sheriff Mhairi MacTaggart praised the work done at the 'wonderful facility' and said she would "just leave you there just now'".

The sheriff deferred sentencing for 10 months for Larcombe to be of good behaviour.

He will return to Ayr Sheriff Court at a later date.
