A KILMARNOCK councillor supported a local business by attending the open day of a family-run bathroom showroom.

Councillor Graham Boyd attended the ID Bathrooms event after the business invited locals to join them at its open day on Saturday, September 21.

He said: “I was delighted to attend the ID Bathrooms Open Day this morning at their new showroom at Hurlford Cross.

"It’s great to see a new business open in a former empty unit adding to the vibrancy of the area around the Cross.”

The business at 2 Mauchline Road in Hurlford underwent months of reconstruction and is set to officially open to the public on Tuesday, September 24.

The open day had a variety of food and drink, a sweetie cart, balloons for the children and multiple prizes as part of a raffle.

Before the business moved in, the property had been lying empty for years and was previously used as Hurlford’s Scottish Cancer Support charity shop.
