Police Scotland is inviting people to find out about a volunteering opportunity like no other as a special constable.
Being a 'special' is not just about upholding the law and catching criminals, it’s also about supporting communities by building trust, respect, and positive relationships.
Special constables work alongside police officers in their spare time – forging strong partnerships in the community, patrolling the streets, preventing crime, and interacting with all kinds of people whilst assisting in keeping the local community safe.
Joining the Special Constabulary is also a fantastic way to find out if the job as a full-time police officer is for you.
You will be part of a team of highly trained professionals, you will have identical powers to that of a police officer and you will receive excellent training and wellbeing support.
The force is hosting an online Special Constable attraction and information event from 7pm on Thursday, June 20.
