An Ardrossan man has admitted driving in the town over the drug limit with no insurance.
Sean Cassidy, 32, of Glasgow Street, pleaded guilty after being stopped on Sorbie Road in the town on January 5 this year.
He was charged with driving an unregistered car at a time when the proportion of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol in his blood was 3.6 microgrammes per litre of blood.
The legal limit in Scotland is set at 2 microgrammes.
Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol is the principal psychoactive constituent of cannabis.
He was also charged with using a car with no insurance, and with taking away and driving a car without the consent of the owner on the same date.
Speaking at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court, Sheriff Nicola Patrick said: "Given the nature of this and your record, I am going to obtain reports."
Sentencing was deferred until a later date, and Cassidy was banned from driving in the interim; the length of time he will be disqualified will be decided when he is sentenced.
