People across Ayrshire were left stunned on Friday night with a beautiful light show by the Aurora Borealis.
Locals flocked to the countryside and the coast for the best view of the lights, with the show also visible in residential areas.
For the first time since 2005, the NOAA Space Weather Prediction Centre in the USA had issued its Severe Geomagnetic Storm Watch.
It was slated to give one of the best ever viewing opportunities for people to see the Aurora Borealis here in Scotland - and it did not disappoint.
The lights were mostly visible during Friday night, but may also be seen during Saturday night too.
Auroras are the result of disturbances in the magnetosphere caused by the solar wind, and can take many forms and colours.
