A man is set to stand trial on charges of being concerned in the supply of a class A drug in Ayrshire.
William Meechan, 35, denies a charge of being concerned in the supply of heroin on the northbound A78, at the Eglinton interchange near Irvine, on March 12, 2021.
Mr Meechan's lawyer told a brief hearing at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court that a drugs report for the defence had been created, and that they were ready for a trial which is expected to last for two to three days.
The procurator fiscal depute said the Crown was also ready for trial and that the prosecution intended to call professional witnesses to give evidence.
Meechan, of John Street in Kirkintilloch, will stand trial later this year.
His bail was continued in the meantime.
