The children and young people of Annanhill Primary are celebrating the results of their recent inspection.
The school was inspected by His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Education (HMIE) back in February.
In their report the inspectors highlighted the school’s key strengths with headteacher Emma Johnstone and staff being praised for their "relentless drive" and creating a "culture of high expectations".
The inspectors also praised the very positive relationships the children and young people enjoyed with their teachers and staff, and the inclusive ethos across the school.
The staff were also praised for developing their practice through strong professional partnerships and collaboration as a team, which they recognised has improved children’s experiences particularly helping to meet the needs of children who require support with their learning.
Councillor Elaine Cowan, Spokesperson for Education, Children and Young People, visited the school to congratulate Emma Johnstone and her team with councillors Douglas Reid, Lillian Jones and James Adams.
She said: "I was delighted to visit Annnahill Primary, on the morning their HMIE report was published, to congratulate Head Teacher Emma Johnstone and the whole school on such a positive report.
"When you visit Annanhill Primary you are struck by the confidence of the children and young people and the positive learning environment.
"I really enjoyed chatting with the children and young people this morning and finding out about the role they played in the inspection process.
Head Teacher Emma Johnstone said: "A team of six inspectors from Education Scotland joined us for a week back in February and participated in all aspects of school life.
"The children and young people had a vital role to play in the inspection process, meeting and talking with the inspectors and it was our young people who lead the tours of the school.
"I am so proud of our children and young people, they are amazing individuals and seeing them shine is so important me and the whole team.
"As Head Teacher, I am so grateful for my whole team of teachers, support staff and partners within our school community.
"The result of our inspection is a reflection on everyone and shows that we are committed to providing the very outcomes for all of our children and young people."
