Two teenagers have been arrested after allegedly being found in possession of a knife in Kilmarnock.
Officers attended at the town's bus station on Thursday, April 11 following reports of two boys in possession of a knife.
Two 16-year-olds were traced and arrested for allegedly being in possession of a knife within a public place.
Police Inspector Iain Farmer, of East Ayrshire Police, said: "The carrying of knives or any offensive weapons will not be tolerated and any reports such as this will always be taken seriously.
"I am asking that parents and carers remind their young people of the devastation the carrying of knives or weapons can cause.
"Our communities will not accept this behaviour and we will always deal with those who choose to do this appropriately.
"We have a host of patrols between ourselves and partners continuing the East Ayrshire Easter campaign.
"I am also asking for the assistance of our young people to please be aware of the impact carrying knives in the community can do."
