A man has been arrested following an assault at Kilmarnock Bus Station over the weekend. 

Police were called to the station in Green Street at around 7:30pm on Saturday, March 9 after reports of an assault. 

A 25-year-old man was charged and a report will be sent to the procurator discal.

Police confirmed the victim of the attack did not require to go to hospital.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.35pm on Saturday, March 9, police were called to a report of a man having been assaulted at the bus station in Green Street, Kilmarnock.

“Officers attended and a 25-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

"He will be the subject of a report to the procurator fiscal. The victim did not require hospital treatment.”
