A Kilmarnock man has pleaded guilty to possessing more than 23,000 indecent images of children as young as one.
Brian Purdie, 59, of Loudoun Avenue, admitted to having indecent photos of children between December 28, 2021 and December 28, 2022.
Kilmarnock Sheriff Court heard Purdie was snared by police who received a tip-off in April 2022 after he uploaded indecent images of children onto a Google drive.
Officers with search warrant found two tablets and one phone at his home later that year.
After being cautioned, Purdie told officers: "There will be stuff on my tablet."
On the devices, police found more than 23,000 still images and more than 1,000 videos, including thousands of the most serious category A material.
The material included still or video footage of both boys and girls aged between one and 16 years old.
Sentencing was deferred for reports; Purdie was placed on the sex offenders register and his bail was continued.
