A CHARITY is appealing for information after an injured dog was found tied up near an Ayrshire landmark.
The Scottish Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SSPCA) have launched a public appeal for assistance after a boxer cross type dog was found tied up on a lead in a country lane in the Loudoun Castle area near Galston.
A member of the public found the female dog just before midday on February 19 and took her to a local vet's surgery in Kilmarnock.
The dog was not microchipped and had a small injury at the time it was discovered.
Scottish SPCA inspector Caitlin Rea said: “The dog was found tied up to a fence on a country lane.
“The dog is not microchipped and she is not wearing a collar.
“She has a small wound on her leg but otherwise appears healthy.
"She is now being cared for at one of our animal rescue and rehoming centres.
“If anyone recognises this dog or has any information surrounding her circumstances, they should call our confidential animal helpline on 03000 999 999.”
