Pancake Day arrives tomorrow, and lots of people across Ayrshire will be whipping up some of the tasty treats in their own homes.
However, plenty of others will be scouring the streets looking for the best pancakes that cafes and restaurants in the region have to offer.
Here we look at the top five rated spots in the region according to review site TripAdvisor if you fancy some pancakes this week...
1. Stage Door Cafe, Ayr
This popular eatery, situated as part of The Gaiety theatre in Ayr town centre, is the top-rated spot when it comes to pancakes in Ayrshire.
The cafe serves breakfast from 10am to midday, with house pancakes on offer for hungry customers.
2. Niche, Irvine
This restaurant is highly rated in North Ayrshire, and sits in Irvine's quaint harbourside area.
The eatery has a selection of pancakes available on its breakfast menu, with favourites including biscoff and banana.
3. Bloom, Troon
This Troon eatery offers gluten free and vegan pancakes as well as its regular favourites.
The Portland Street business is open from 8:30am from Tuesday to Saturday, and regularly earns rave reviews from customers.
4. Balkenna Tea Room, Turnberry
This cosy tearoom is situated on the A77 near Turnberry, and offers a selection of food and cakes alongside views of Ailsa Craig.
The eatery offers pancakes with syrup or Nutella on its breakfast menu, all for a reasonable price.
5. Pandora Coffee House, Ayr
This New Bridge Street eatery offers pancakes several ways on its breakfast menu, which is served from 7:30am until midday.
It also offers a wide range of food and drinks on its lunch menu, including pizza, pasta and burgers.
