Major upgrades to the waste water network and watercourses in Stewarton are being planned for the next two years.
Some of the work by Scottish Water will begin this year, and will be delivered throughout 2024 and 2025.
The company is planning to carry out sewer investigation works at various locations around the town from February 12 for up to ten weeks.
The work will be carried out in phases on High Street, Dunlop Place, Springwell Place, Bridgend, Holm Street, Barbours Park, Cutstraw Road and in land off Kirk Glebe.
Some temporary traffic management such as traffic lights or a short section of road closure may be required.
Stewarton residents are being invited to a drop-in information event which will take place at the Stewarton Area Centre on Tuesday, February 13 from 4pm to 7pm.
The event will provide information about Scottish Water's planned projects for the town and why they are needed, details of impacts on the community and the opportunity to ask questions.
A Scottish Water spokesperson said: "We will write to customers in these areas prior to investigations beginning. As always, we will do what we can to minimise any disruption."
