SEVERAL schools and roads are closed in East Ayrshire following the effects of Storm Isha. 

Strong winds hit the region overnight, bringing down trees and power lines which have had a knock-on effect. 

East Ayrshire Council has confirmed that the A735 between Stewarton and Kilmaurs is closed to a fallen tree. 

The B7034 near Dalrymple is also closed due to damaged overhead wires. 

Loudoun Academy, Darvel Primary School and Darvel Early Childhood Centre will all be closed today due to issues with power supplies.

Crosshouse Primary School and ECC will also be closed today due to a local power outage.
