Popular comedian Dara Ó Briain was among the well-wishers after a popular Kilmarnock teacher was awarded an MBE in the King's New Year Honours List.
Chris Smith, who teaches at Grange Academy, was honoured for services to mathematics education and to the community in East Ayrshire.
The Newmilns resident previously hit the headlines when he was named Teacher of the Year at the Scottish Education Awards in 2018.
Chris is known for his innovative thinking and his creative lessons that help students to think differently and embrace maths.
Sharing the news on X, formerly known as Twitter, Chris said: "Here’s a letter offering me three letters...
"This wee maths geek from East Ayrshire has scooped an MBE."
Among those congratulating Chris was comedian Dara Ó Briain, best known for hosting popular show Mock The Week.
