Staff at Ayrshire Maternity Unit have welcomed their first baby of 2024.

Charlie Spence was born at 2.19am on Monday, January 1, weighing a healthy 6lb 6oz.

Parents Ashleigh and George, and big sister Lucy, were all delighted after welcoming the first newborn of the year in Ayrshire.

An NHS spokesperson said: "Huge congratulations to all the family and welcome to the world, baby Charlie."
