On his way back to the North Pole, Santa Claus popped in to the Ayrshire Maternity Unit to make a special delivery.

Ayrshire’s newest resident arrived just before 1am on Christmas Day, and is a baby boy for Laura and Andrew Logan from Kilmarnock.

Little Blair Logan weighed in at 9lb 4.5oz, and is a little brother to three-year-old Freya.

Blair was delivered by Senior Charge Midwife, Lillias Love. Lillias is due to retire soon, and Blair was her last Christmas baby. 

An NHS Ayrshire and Arran spokesperson said: "Merry Christmas from all at NHS Ayrshire & Arran.

"Welcome to the world, Blair!"
