Stewarton got Christmas started early as thousands came out for the town's annual Yuletide evening.

Organised by charity Stewarton Initiatives, locals flocked to the town centre and Avenue Square for late-night shopping, stalls, hot food and drinks.

Residents were also able to take photos with the town Christmas tree, situated at the busy cross area in the centre of town.

Ayrshire Today:

Organisations including the Scouts, Boys Brigade and school pupils had stalls selling goods, with sports activities for kids and the chance to get up close with birds.

A Stewarton Initiatives spokesperson said: "And with that, Yuletide is over for another year.

"A huge thank you to our stall holders, helpers and everyone who came down to support local businesses!

"See you all in 2024!"
