Hard hat tours of the famous Waverley paddle steamer are returning in the new year. 

Enthusiasts are being invited to step aboard this winter for an exclusive behind the scenes tour, described as the perfect Christmas gift for family and friends. 

The tour starts in the Waverley office in Glasgow, with a short presentation on how the shore-based team supports the ship's operations. 

The Waverley's general manager will then give a brief overview of the work undertaken in winter to prepare the paddle steamer for the coming season.

The second part of the tour will take place on Waverley, where you will have the opportunity to visit areas of the ship not open to passengers - including the boiler room, bridge and crew-only areas.

During the tour you will have the opportunity to ask any questions and hear first-hand about the plans for the coming season.

A number of packages are available, with prices starting at £195. A number of dates are available in February and March.
