NHS Ayrshire and Arran is urging residents to be kind and considerate to staff working under difficult circumstances.
The health board has put out a message warning that abusive behaviour towards staff can lead to less time with those that need their help.
A spokesperson said: "Abusive behaviour causes mental and physical harm to our staff, leading to time off work and less time with patients.
"Help us keep going, please be considerate to our staff."
