A PRISONER at HMP Kilmarnock has had his sentence extended after committing an offence behind bars.
Jason Arthurs will now spend a further 12 weeks at the Ayrshire prison at the end of his current sentence.
It comes after Arthurs, 29, admitted being in possession a personal communication device namely a SIM card - within his cell on March 23 this year.
He pleaded guilty to the offence during a brief hearing at the town's sheriff court on September 7.
A not guilty plea to one further offence was accepted by prosecutors.
