A HURLFORD man has been sentenced to time in prison after he admitted acting in a threatening or abusive manner towards his former partner.
Paul Sawyers, 33, was handed a five-month jail term after a brief appearance at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Thursday, September 7.
It followed a guilty plea to one offence which took place between April 12 and June 18 of this year at an address in Kilmarnock.
Sawyers admitted that he acted in a threatening or abusive manner which was likely to cause his ex-partner fear or alarm.
He did so by repeatedly contacting the woman on her mobile phone and uttering threats of violence as well as offensive remakrs.
Sawyers was also given a non-harassment order, which will be in place for a period of two years.
