Kilmarnock midfielder Brad Lyons insists his teammates are ready for their clash with Tromsø on Thursday.

The Ayrshire side take on the Norwegians in the third qualifying round of the Europa Conference League over two legs.

Killie fell into the Conference League pathway following their narrow loss over two legs to Belgian side Cercle Bruges.

Lyons, the club's vice-captain, says the European journey has been memorable so far, but he wants to go even further in the competition.

He said: "The last couple of weeks, playing in Europe with different opponents, the amount of fans we've brought and the atmosphere, it's been really exciting.

"Hopefully this time around we can put a good performance in and get the right result.

"I think we've got to back ourselves more. You saw in the first tie it was a very tight competitive game, and one wee mistake cost us the tie.

"We know what we've got in that changing room and we've got just got to put it out on the pitch.

"We're ready physically and mentally, we've had a good pre-season. We're in a good place but we've got to put it all together out on the pitch.

Lyons reveals the Killie squad have looked into their Norwegian opponents, and says they are aware of their European strengths.

He added: "We've done our homework on them. We see they can mix it up, they can go long when they want but can also play very good football.

"They won their home and away legs in the last tie, and last season they qualified for Europe so we know they have talent there.

"We don't really focus on the second leg, we'll try and win the game tomorrow night."
