POLICE are continuing to appeal for assistance to trace East Ayrshire man William Barclay, one week on from when he was reported missing.

The 54-year-old was last seen on Monday, August 26 in the Newmilns area and was later reported missing on Saturday, September 28.

William has been known to spend time in the Oban, Fort William and Mallaig areas and normally travels by bus.

He is described as 5ft 10in tall, of stocky build with short grey hair.

Sergeant Alan Cronie from Kilmarnock Police Station said: “We are becoming increasingly concerned for William’s wellbeing particularly given the length of time since he was last seen.

“We would continue to appeal for anyone who thinks they may have seen him to report any sightings to us.

“Anyone with information regarding William’s whereabouts is asked to contact Police Scotland quoting incident number 1035 of Saturday, 28 September, 2024.”
