TOWNS in Ayrshire have received multiple nominations for the prestigious Scotland Loves Local Awards 2024.
Organised by Scotland’s Towns Partnership (STP), the awards recognise and celebrate all things great about the nation’s towns and neighbourhoods and the work to ensure they become stronger and more sustainable.
Among the five finalists for Most Enterprising Community are Nature CIC in Ayr, Linlith-go-solar from West Kilbride and Dalry Community Hub.
They will be competing against Perth’s Letham Climate Challenge and Tree in the Park in Dunfermline.
Ayrshire also racked up a nomination for Scotland’s Town of the Year, with Darvel in East Ayrshire making the shortlist.
The four finalists it will face off against are Broughty Ferry, East Kilbride, Inverurie and Oban.
Kimberley Guthrie, STP chief officer, said: “The high standard of nominations received have been a powerful reminder of the amazing work going on to make communities across Scotland fit for the future, attracting investment and driving real economic change.
“Thanks to everyone who entered and congratulations to all of those shortlisted. Our judges face some difficult decisions in selecting their winners.”
This is the fourth year of the awards and the winners will be announced in October alongside other categories like Place Leader of the Year and regional High Street Hero award.
