A petition has been launched to save a popular Ayrshire-focussed radio breakfast show.

From September 16, West FM will be rebranded Clyde 1 Ayrshire and will broadcast the full Clyde 1 output, including the award-winning Bowie at Breakfast.

However, the changes will mean the end of 'Ali and Michael in the Morning', a breakfast show popular with listeners across the region.

A petition to save the show, set up by local online influencer Live With Stu, has already racked up more than 350 signatures in less than a day.

It reads: "Ali and Michael's breakfast show has been a beacon of light and local flavour for the people of Ayrshire.

"Their dynamic and engaging presence make every morning enjoyable, while their selfless dedication to the local community is immeasurable.

"They have not only entertained us with their show but also contributed significantly to the local area.

"It's time to demonstrate our support and appreciation for their service.

"This petition aims to ensure that they remain as the friendly voices we wake up to every morning, keeping public broadcasting local, authentic, and close to the heart of Ayrshire.

"Remember - our community voice matters; let it be heard through Ali and Michael's Breakfast Show."
