HEALTH bosses have advised that parking spaces at Crosshouse Hospital will be limited for the next six months.

The reduced capacity is being put in place to allow space for a mobile MRI van to be used at the site.

NHS Ayrshire and Arran says the van will provide extra capacity for MRI scans to be carried out for patients across the area.

Part of the hospital's east end car park has been closed to facilitate the van, and those visiting are asked to take this into consideration and to use public transport if possible.

A spokesperson said: "Please note, in order to provide additional MRI capacity for our patients, an MRI van will be operational on the University Hospital Crosshouse site for a six-month period from Monday July 8, 2024, which is closing part of the east end car park.

"If coming to the hospital please consider parking restrictions and use public transport where possible.

"Thank you for your understanding and co-operation."
