There is less than a week left to submit entries for the Ayrshire business awards - aimed at honouring the best of the region's businesses.

The awards ceremony will mark the culmination of Ayrshire Business Week, organised by the Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce.

Aimed at promoting and supporting businesses across Ayrshire, the nominations in 16 categories opened back in May and will close at 5pm on Friday, July 12.

The winners will be announced on Friday, October 4 during Ayrshire Business Week which will run from Monday, September 30, to Friday, October 4.

The event will be held at Ayr Racecourse with magician and presenter Ben Hanlin as the evening’s host.

A new addition to the awards this year is the Innovation Award with the following categories also available: Apprentice of the Year; Ayrshire's Growth Business of the Year; Charity of the Year; Community Award; Community Wealth Building; Developing Ayrshire's Young Workforce; Driving Sustainability; Entrepreneur of the Year; Going Global – International Trade Business of the Year; Hospitality Business of the Year; Innovation; Start-up Business of the Year; Tourism; and Workplace Health and Wellbeing.
