Plans are underway for an active travel route linking Lugton and Kilmarnock via Dunlop, Stewarton and Kilmaurs. 

Ayrshire Roads Alliance is working in partnership with East Ayrshire Leisure and Sweco to create the proposals. 

A number of different routes have been outlined for each section, and the public are now being urged to give their feedback.

A four-week consultation period is now running for locals to share their views on the proposed project and route options.

Drop-in events will take place at Stewarton Youth and Community Centre on May 22 from 6:30pm to 7:30pm and at the Burns Shopping Mall on May 25 from 9:30am to 3pm.

Two further events will take place at Dunlop Village Hall on May 30 from 11am to 2pm, and at Kilmaurs Community Centre on June 6 from 4pm to 7pm.
