Two men are set for trial after denying a number of drugs charges at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court.

Neal Stark, 36 of Dunure Drive in Rutherglen, and Christopher Paton, 34, listed as an inmate at HMP Kilmarnock, have been charged with allegedly being concerned in the supply of cocaine and diamorphine to another or others in Tourhill Road, Kilmarnock on May 24, 2023.

Stark has also been charged with allegedly being in possession of herbal cannabis and cannabis resin at Dunure Drive in Rutherglen on the same day.

Stark’s lawyer told the court that his client was ready for a trial which is expected to last around three days.

Paton’s lawyer said that the date identified for the trial, May 28, was beyond the custody time limit for his client.

However, the trial was fixed for that date, with Sheriff Watson extending the time bar to allow Paton to be held in custody until that point.

Paton was remanded in custody, while Stark's bail was continued until the trial date.
