Plans have been revealed to create a new petrol station in the centre of Kilmarnock.

Grove Retail Ltd is hoping to redevelop a former car wash on Irvine Road to include a shop, EV charging points, laundry and jet wash.

The site was previously used as a petrol station and car wash, but has been lying empty since 2021.

The existing site includes a small office building, a forecourt, a large, paved area and customer parking.

The proposed petrol station would have six fuel pumps, with two electric vehicle charging points.

The existing office building will be removed and a new 112 square metre shop with a 68 square sales area on the east side of the property.

The proposals would create up to four full-time and four part-time jobs, with the petrol station open 24/7.
