A Kilmarnock betting shop could be on the move if a new store gets the green light.
Ladbrokes has applied for permission to create a new shop at the entrance to the Burns Mall, in a premises formerly occupied by Aulds the Bakers.
The bakery closed down in August 2018 and the site has been lying empty ever since in a prominent spot in the town centre.
Ladbrokes has asked East Ayrshire Council planners for a change of use for the site, which would see the business move from its existing shop in Croft Street.
Betting shop bosses are wanting to move to a bigger premises to create a better experience for staff and customers.
The proposed new store would be a digi-hub, using technology to create a better experience for customers.
Planning documents state: "The existing betting office on Croft Street is cramped and no longer meets the standards of comfort and fit out expected by today’s customers and employees.
"The proposed new unit would operate under Ladbrokes digi-hub concept, which offers a high quality fit out and fully digitised betting services."
The full plans can be viewed on East Ayrshire Council's planning portal.
