Children and young people from Nether Robertland Primary in Stewarton are celebrating after a very good report from education inspectors.

Education Scotland praised the school’s new vision – Learn Today, Lead Tomorrow - and their values of determination, teamwork, respect and responsibility.

The school was evaluated as 'very good' by inspectors in all four areas – leadership of change; learning, teaching and assessment; ensuring wellbeing, equality and inclusion; and raising attainment and achievement.

The children and young people were praised highly, being described as respectful, polite and confident, who were very proud of their school, that they work well together and enact the school’s values in everyday life.

The strong leadership of the school was recognised as a strength, with both head teacher Jackie Beveridge and depute head Debbie Lindsay being identified as working very well with their full team, providing a clear direction and strategy for continuous improvement.

The whole team were recognised as very effective and providing quality learning experiences for the children and young people.

Ms Beveridge said: “Education Scotland visited our school for a week in January and the team of inspectors observed every aspect of school life.

"It was a very positive experience and we are all incredibly proud of our report.

“We are fortunate to have such wonderful children and young people attending our school. They did the school and their families very proud.

“As head teacher I am also thankful to all of the wonderful team of teachers, support staff and supportive partners across our school community.

"The positive inspection outcome really is testament to their ongoing commitment to provide the very best experiences and outcomes for all of our children.”
