A SEX predator who preyed on four young women across Ayrshire, including raping one of them while she slept, has been jailed for 12 years.

Finlay Hume was sentenced at the High Court in Glasgow on Wednesday, March 20, having earlier been convicted of a total of 13 charges.

The victims suffered at the 39-year-old's hands between June 2013 and November 2021 at different addresses across Ayrshire including Kilmarnock and Fenwick.

Hume repeatedly made sleazy comments to the first woman.

He then went on to put the next victim through a horror ordeal which involved him raping her while she was initially asleep as well as assaulting, stalking and threatening the terrified victim.

Prosecutors said this included Hume warning the woman he was going to report her to police.

The third woman was harassed with inappropriate remarks and texts.

The final victim was also sexually assaulted and raped by Hume.

Hume, of Fenwick, appeared via video link from prison for the hearing.

His KC, Gary Allan, told the court that his client was still maintaining his innocence.

Lord Colbeck ordered Hume be supervised for a further four years on his release.

He stated Hume had "clearly exploited" the "relative immaturity" of the victim.

The judge told him: "You continue to deny responsibility for the offences.

"You accuse the victims of conspiring against you and making false allegations.

"You show no insight to your behaviour and the impact that it has had on them."

Hume was also hit with non-harassment orders banning him from contacting two of the women.
