The new owners of a much-loved Kilmarnock pub have outlined their vision for the watering hole.

Kriss Steven and Steven Freeburn have taken over The Kadikoi on Bonnyton Road from previous owners Gareth and Mikey.

The pub is a well-known spot for fans of nearby Kilmarnock FC, and also serves the surrounding community.

The pair say they want to retain the traditional values of the pub whilst giving it a modern twist, and say they are "looking forward to making it something special".

They also outline their plans for the venue moving forward, including renovations and an opening party.

They explained: "We’re going to be giving the pub a paint job to bring a more pleasurable look whilst keeping the pub feeling

"We’re going to brighten it up inside with new lights being fitted which will make it a much better, open, nice space.

"We’re going to be doing the beer garden up so it has space for 40+ people out there in the summer.

"We are also going to fit a TV outside so everyone can enjoy the good weather whilst catching up on the TV.

We’re going to be changing the TVs inside the pub to bigger and better quality ones so the viewing is much better .

"We’re going to upgrade the sound system inside so the jukebox music is to a much higher standard."

There will also be new drinks and handmade cocktails on offer to punters.

They added: "We hope that everyone will be happy enough with the changes we have planned. We will try our absolute best to make the Kadikoi the go-to bar for everyone.

"Please bare with us, we can’t wait to bring all of the above to life for everyone.

"We have already met a few of the regulars and everyone so far has been amazing.

"We look forward to meeting everyone else at the opening party on April 6."
