Seven men have appeared in court on drugs charges following the alleged discovery of a cannabis cultivation in Kilmarnock. 

Officers made seven arrests following a raid on a building in the town's King Street last week.

The men, all with addresses in England, appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Friday, March 8.

Albert Haxhia, 35, Sokol Lufi, 37, Alex Salvesen, 38, and 23-year-old Simon Samuel, all from Oxford, as well as Dorjan Kulla, 25, from London, Razaie Wahidulla, 30, from Slough, Berkshire, and 51-year-old Andrew Williams, of no fixed abode, all face charges under the Misuse of Drugs Act and the Electricity Act.

None of the men entered any plea in respect of any of the charges against them.

All were committed for further examination.

Mr Hazhia, Mr Kulla and Mr Lufi were all remanded in custody pending a further court appearance within eight days.

Mr Salvesen, Mr Samuel, Mr Wahidulla and Mr Williams were all released on bail and will return to court to face the charges on a date yet to be determined.
