A popular Ayrshire restaurant that has been closed for several years has teased its comeback online.

The Cochrane Inn, in Gatehead, closed and was put up for sale back in 2019. It was operated by Costley and Costley for more than 12 years.

At the time, the restaurant boasted the potential for 70 covers. It was well-known across the region for its fresh, local dishes.

A new social media page for the Cochrane Inn has been created, and promises to reveal more in the coming days.

A spokesperson said: "We are under new management no longer operating with the Costley group. We look forward to welcoming you all from Wednesday 21st."

The restaurant's new website boasts a fresh menu, as the iconic venue looks set to return to the Ayrshire dining scene.
