A Kilmarnock man has been sentenced after pleading guilty to two drugs charges.

James Surtees, 40, of St Andrews Street, pleaded guilty to being in possession of two Class A drugs last year, with intent to supply both substances to others.

Surtees admitted the charges in respect of quantities of diamorphine (heroin) and cocaine at Bluebell Drive in the town on July 26, 2023.

At a brief hearing at the town's sheriff court, Surtees was placed on a community payback order with 12 months of social work supervision and was ordered to carry out 210 hours of unpaid work.
