A man has been sentenced after uttering offensive remarks and threatening violence at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court.

Darren Stevenson, 38, of Castle Street in Newmilns, was found guilty of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner that was likely to cause a reasonable person to suffer fear or alarm.

The incident took place in the court on July 26 last year. 

Stevenson was sentenced to a 12 month supervised community payback order, 150 hours of unpaid work and a non-harassment order for two years.
