Proposals have been submitted for a new petrol station in Kilmarnock. 

Grove Retail is looking to turn a vacant site on the busy Irvine Road in the town into a multi-purpose filling station, shop and jet wash. 

The site was previously a petrol station several years ago, but has more recently been in use as a car wash. 

The proposed d development will retain the existing office building, to be extended to form a new improved customer entrance and a hot food take away counter.

The facility will include six fuel pumps, a jet wash bay and two electric vehicle charging points.

The business would create four full-time and four part-time jobs, with 24-hour operation throughout the week.
