A GALSTON teenager has been ordered to carry out unpaid work after carrying out a vicious assault on a man in the town nearly two years ago.

Alexander White, 18, of Station Road, had pleaded guilty to the offence, which took place in the town's Henrietta Street in April 2022.

While acting along with others, he punched his victim on the head, causing him to fall to the ground, and then repeatedly kicked him on the head and body.

White was placed on a community payback order at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court with 12 months of social work supervision, and ordered to do 100 hours of unpaid work in the community.
