"The public access the site through the electrically operated security gate. The public key in the code to open the gate, that closes automatically after access is gained.
"The main gate has a push button located to allow the gate to be opened from inside the facility in the event of an emergency.
"There are parking arrangements that allow the public to park in close proximity to their storage container.
"The facility will be staffed between the hours noted. The site is lit, lights have monitor sensors and are located above the entrance doors of the containers."
144 of the containers would be 20 feet long, with the other 10 containers being 10 feet long.
The application will be considered by East Ayrshire Council in the coming weeks and more details can be found on its planning portal using reference 23/0618/PP.
